4 New Google Features You Don't Want To Miss
Have an Android phone? Google just released some pretty helpful features that can all be done via the Google search bar! Pop open your browser and let’s try these out!
FIND YOUR ANDROID PHONE OR TABLET
We’ve all been there….searching for our phones or tablets. Sometimes in our homes, our cars, and even in the great unknown. Instead of searching everywhere you can rely on Google to help you! Type the phrase “find my phone” into Google’s search engine on your computer and within a couple of seconds, you should see the location on the map that’s accurate to a certain distance. Now, if it’s lost in your house, it won’t tell you what room it’s in, but you can ring your device to track it down. Your device will ring at full volume for up to five minutes. Once you find it, simply click the power button to turn off the ringing.
Don’t forget that you can still use Android Device Manager to help locate and ring your device. This will also help you remotely lock and reset the password or erase all of the data!
SEND DIRECTIONS FROM YOUR COMPUTER TO YOUR PHONE
Tired of looking up directions before you head out from your desktop only to have to type them again into your phone as you jump in your car? Open up Google and type “send directions” and hit enter.
From here, it will show your phone’s current location and you can fill out where you want to go. Type the name or address of the location and then click the ‘send directions to phone’ button. You will receive the directions on your phone in Google Maps, and then you are on your way!
SET AN ALARM OR SEND A NOTE
Leave your phone sitting right by your side to set an alarm and even send a note. Bring up your Google search and type “send a note” or “set an alarm”. Once you enter the command of choice, it will bring you to the next screen where you enter the information. For alarms, you will see big numbers with the time and after setting the time for your alarm, click ‘set alarm on phone’.
Sending a note is just as easy! Simply type the note, send it off, and you will receive a notification on your phone with the note. From here, you can either copy the note or save it. Once you save it, you can share it through various apps that you have installed on your phone.
